old radio

We have had the following request from BBC Somerset in Taunton -

"I’m wondering if you may know a local family in Somerset who’d be willing to share their experience with us.

We want to raise awareness of Dwarfism to help educate people with the correct terminology which should be used towards someone with the condition(s)."

If you are in Somerset, and would be interested in appearing on radio, please let us know, let's help raise awareness of dwarfism.

Bake Sale idea

Huge thank you to LPUK supporter Amye Watt, along with family and fiends for arranging a brilliant Bake Sale in January, raising a fantastic £873.50 for LPUK.

leadership symposium start

Little People UK delegates were once again in attendance at the Genetic Disorders UK Leadership Symposium, on 9th - 10th March 2018. As with previous years the event provided an opportunity for members of various charity, organisations and support groups, associated with rare genetic disorders, to meet and discuss imperative issues with their work.

At the LPUK 6th Birthday Celebration we released the first edition of our annual newsletter!

Take a look below...

GDUK LS 2017 logoOnce again Genetic Disorders UK - Leadership Symposium was a fantastic event. Where we heard from a number of different speakers, each giving their own experience on issues which affect our charities and help us support our members.

The weekend allowed for great networking and gathering some useful advice on running a charity, and developing it in the future.

As with previous years the weekend started with a welcome dinner on Friday evening, giving members of all charities present chance to network, reconnect with people and gain contacts that could be useful in the future.

HamptonA great time was had at Disability Peterboroughs: Disability Awareness Month, raising awareness of LPUK and dwarfism.

Huge thank you to the Serpentine Green and Inspire Peterborough for organising the event and inviting LPUK to take part.

The event is taking place during the whole month of March, where there has been, and will continue to be, a number of charities, support groups and organisations raising awareness of their particular disability and highlighting the services available in Peterborough.

LPUK volunteers went along to the day and spoke to many people, to raise awareness of the support we provide and increase the profile of people with dwarfism in the wider community. The day was a great success and we look forward to attending more in the future.

If you are interested in learning what other services are available in Peterborough, the event is continuing throughout March and more details can be found on their Facebook page

POSH
