Members of Little People UK have brought to our attention the article in the Leicester Mercury, regarding 'Dwarf Wrestling' the Little People UK committee have contacted all necessary parties with the following statement -

'Firstly, we must reiterate that Little People UK do not judge anyone for any activity they undertake. Therefore our comments are not directed towards the people with dwarfism who could possibly take up such an activity. However, LPUK dislike the use of a dwarf persons body being used as a spectacle and hope this is not the case.

A pertinent point to mention is - the term ‘midget’ is deemed highly offensive to many within the dwarfism community and can not be condoned. We have a Press Release on our website, which has LPUK’s thoughts on using the word, and how this should be stopped.'

We also ask if members feel strongly about this, to complete the poll which has been setup on the article page.

Thank you,
Little People UK
