Disability Living Allowance (DLA)/Personal Independance Payment (PIP)

Little People UK's 'DLA/PIPs working group' have recently met to discuss the pertinent matter of the transition from DLA to PIPs, scoping the impact of this change on our members and will be considering how we move forward with this in discussion with the membership.

We know this issue is currently a huge cause for concern to our members, and many others within the dwarfism community. We are aware of several members who have already had their allowances removed, and are either going through appeals or struggling without this assistance. We know action is needed urgently.

LPUK are working on a number of different ways to help provide the support for our members, including; sourcing professional help, gathering information from our members, providing assistance on completing the forms and in the future we will possbile speak with members of parliament to bring about any necessary changes to make the process fair for all.

In the meantime, we are building this advisory section on our website to help answer some of the most common questions and alleviate some of the most immediate concerns, whilst also providing links for websites providing useful information on the process of DLA/PIP transistion and completing the forms.

If you have any useful information please don't hesitate to get in touch via our contact page, in confidence.

Here is a list of what have built up so far:
