Well done to Jack, Abi and Brian for completing the Vitality London 10,000 for LPUK. You are all fantastic!

Last week was a great week of raising awareness for Little People UK.

The weekend started of the proceedings with a visit to Yaxley Festival, where members were able to talk to visitors about LPUK and dwarfism, also meeting local MP Shailesh Vara. This was followed by 2 days at the Primary Care Exhibition where we had the opportunity to speak to Midwives, GP's, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and others within the medical profession to increase awareness of dwarfism and their importance within the medical field. Our final event of the week was at the inaugural Recruiters 4 U Roadshow at Peterborough Cathedral where we spoke to members of the public and also recruiters to raise awareness of people with dwarfism.

We have received a number of enquiries to LPUK from students around the country, interested in designing products for people with dwarfism.

Please see these below and feel free to respond where possible.

Primary Care

Little People UK delegates had a great time at the Primary Care Exhibition on 16th and 17th May 2018.

We met lots of medical professionals who can be a huge asset to LPUK, and we look forward to getting in touch with them to continue our work of supporting our members in the future.

We also look forward to attending and exhibiting at next years show.

The Dwarf Sports Association UK had another fantastic weekend for their 25th Anniversary National Games. There was lots of competition, medals and fun to be had, with the weather making it even more enjoyable.

Little People UK had an information stand on the Friday of the event, where we had leaflets, news and our brilliant new magazines, for everyone to come and hear about LPUK.

Kent Online

Little People UK were contacted about this article and sent a statement (which unfortunately, was not used) to accompany this we also sent LPUK's 'Midget' Statement.

We are disappointed about this situation, and it has brought to light how much we need to help and educate society.

The committee are always working hard, but realise there is much more work to do in this area.

NaidexOn 25th & 26th April Little People UK volunteers visited NEC in Birmingham, for the Naidex 2018 event.

We were able to meet many new useful companies, organisations and charities who can support LPUK and it’s members in the future.

Yaxley Festival 2017Over the weekend of 13th-14th May 2017 LPUK committee members and volunteers had a great time at the Yaxley Festival, raising funds and awareness for LPUK.

Huge thank you to Yaxley for inviting us and allowing LPUK to be this years charity partners.

Yaxley FesitvalThe weekend of 12th-14th May will be the annual Yaxley Festival who are kindly raising funds this year for LPUK and a local community support group.

There will be stalls, competitions, food and live music.

The Yaxley Festival is free and everyone is welcome. It will be a great event and we'd love to see you there to support and help represent LPUK.

dsaThe weekend of 28th April to 1st May once again saw a fantastic array of sporting achievements, with the Dwarf Sports Association UK National Games, in Birmingham.

There were over 100 competitors of all ages, from all over the UK, who had travelled to take part in the weekends games.

It was great to see so many people having a fantastic time over the weekend, winning many medals and making many memories.

Huge thank you to Tracy Precious and her family for holding a funday on Easter Saturday and raising £490 for Little People UK.

Tracy, who's grandson Taylor, has dwarfism, has held a funday in the past and decided to hold another this year.

She said "it was an amazing day for an amazing charity."

Truck Fest 2017

Little People UK members, The Ward family, spent this past Sunday at Truckfest: Peterborough, raising awareness of LPUK.

They were there with CPT Ltd and the Jessica Jane truck, speaking to festival goers about LPUK and Jessica, explaining what the charity is and the support we provide.

Huge thanks to CPT Ltd, The Ward family and committee member Ray Griffiths for your hard work raising awareness on the day.

Kay Kelly

My name is Kay Kelly, I am 29 years old and from Southend-on-Sea in Essex. I only very recently found out about LPUK.

I follow Warwick on face book and twitter and saw some posts about dwarfism awareness month last October. I shared the posts during that month and looked a little into the charity having not come across it before.

A huge thank you to LPUK Committee member Paul Hinton who has raised £1,045 for LPUK.

In March Paul had a milestone birthday and held a fantastic party to celebrate, he kindly asked for all presents be made as donations to LPUK.

Thank you to Paul, and of course, everyone who donated.

People with dwarfism call for sport providers to offer more local accessible opportunities in new research.

New research from DSAuk highlights a clear need for sports providers to offer more local sport and recreational activity opportunities, which are accessible for people with dwarfism and restricted growth.
