A great time was had by many at National Space Centre in Leicester this weekend, for the Return of the Garrison Star Wars event.
It was a fantastic weekend for all Star Wars fans and a brilliant opportunity to raise funds and awareness for LPUK.
Thank you to everyone who participated, donated and visit us this weekend.
The weekend was full of all things Star Wars with characters from the whole galaxy there to entertain the crowd, huge thanks to UK Garrison, 501st Legion and Rebel Legion for entertaining all the fans, thank you also to Mark Leigh from the UKR2D2 Builders Club for bringing along the fantastic R2D2, he was certainly a hit.
A number of stars from the films were also there including BB8 puppeteer Brian Herring, Tivik actor Daniel Mays, Orlando Star Wars Celebration artist Paul Shipper and of course LPUK President Warwick Davis.
There were many activities to take part in including Jedi Training with Silver Sabres, drawing, LEGO modelling, Science Fiction Modelling, raffles, competitions and much more. SFM:UK raised over £400 for LPUK with their raffle! LPUK are hugely grateful for everyone who took time over the weekend to participate and donate to LPUK, including; LEGO creators, Prop Masters, Replica Prop Board. Once again JAKe created some excellent images for visitors and along with Malcolm Tween, very kindly donated some artwork to LPUK for future events.
Not only was the weekend full of Star Wars activities, but guests were also able to visit the Space Centre itself, to learn about space, technology and even visit the Sir Patrick Moore Planetarium for some excellent informative films.
A huge thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered and organised the weekend, we really appreciate your support. Most importantly, to everyone who attended and donated, thank you. We are already looking forward to next years event.
