Huge thank you to Jemma Hart and pupils at St Peter In Thanet Junior School, Broadstairs, for raising over £2000 for Little People UK and Dwarf Sports Association UK at their 12 hour Dance-a-thon last week, during Dwarfism Awareness Month.
The day started at 8am, with a demonstration from Elite Dancers from the school which was great encouragement to get everyone involved. LPUK President Warwick Davis was there to speak with pupils and parents, signing books and merchandise from his films. Tom Mills (from DSAuk) and Sam Davis (from LPUK) were also there speaking with pupils and parents, to raise awareness and thank them for their fantastic efforts. The day continued successfully until 8pm.
During the day LPUK President Warwick Davis also addressed the pupils in a special 'difference, inclusiveness and promoting awareness of dwarfism assembly', raising awareness of both charities, along with the conditions of dwarfism.
Miss Roby, the school’s Office Manager said 'the day was arranged to celebrate our differences and to raise and promote awareness of Dwarfism'.
The funds raised will go a long way to helping Little People UK and Dwarf Sports Association UK, together with this there was fantastic awareness of both charities and dwarfism. Thank you to everyone involved.
