The Dwarf Sports Association UK had another fantastic weekend for their 25th Anniversary National Games. There was lots of competition, medals and fun to be had, with the weather making it even more enjoyable.
Little People UK had an information stand on the Friday of the event, where we had leaflets, news and our brilliant new magazines, for everyone to come and hear about LPUK.
The National Games competition started on Friday night, once again with the Powerlifting, Saturday was the traditional Athletics day at Alexandra Stadium with all track and field events on a lovely sunny day, a contrast for years gone by. Sunday saw lots of team sports with Hockey, Football and Basketball, along with Shooting, Table Tennis and New Age Kurling. The final day of competition was the Swimming Gala, with lots of competitors young and old, taking part in all events.
The DSAuk National Games are a great opportunity for people with dwarfism to take part in competition on an equal level to their peers, lots of memories were made and there were many happy faces after the weekends events.
Well done to everyone at DSAuk for organising such a great event.
