Little People UK members donned their cowboy hats and checked shirts this weekend to celebrate in style, LPUK’s Western themed 4th Birthday.
Over 300 LPUK attendees travelled to Hinckley Island Hotel to catch up, have fun and join in with the festivities. Thanks to the brilliant Ace Tones, the room was decked with Wild West Cowboys, Totem poles and hay bales, activity stalls were set up for all to enjoy, including tin can alley, coconut shy, crossbow, cactus hoopla and the always popular candy floss and popcorn, plus many more. Arrows were shot, hoops were thrown and many prizes were won. There was an extra special guest throughout the day, in the form of the excellent Cowboy Max, providing entertainment for adults and children alike, he entertained the masses with a finale performance, showing off his cowboys skills and even volunteering a few members from the audience to participate.
Many attendees certainly got in to the spirit of the event and dressed in some weird and wonderful outfits, throughout the day there were many Cowboys, Cowgirls and Indians, a few horses even made an appearance for the evening.
The fun continued in to the evening with the second of the Western themed buffets, to ensure everyone was fully fuelled for the evenings activities. This was followed by the fantastic band; Moggy In The Wood, who provided some brilliant traditional music and taught many of our members some great line dancing steps, everyone got involved and there were many red faces by the end. There was a quick breather to announce the winner of the raffle and of course to give a huge thanks to the LPUK fundraisers of the past 6 months. Who undertook many different challenges to help raise funds for LPUK. The evening, and party, was finished with an excellent disco, provided by Barrie John Roadshow
Once again it was great to see so many happy people, there were many old faces, and it was great to see all the new ones. Friendships were formed and many memories were made, we hope everyone had a great time and we look forward to seeing everyone later in the year.
