Announcement

Dear Members,

We are writing to you today to inform you of some recent changes in the LPUK committee 2022/23 term.

We regret to inform you that Simeon Dyer has taken the decision to step down as chairperson of Little People UK with immediate effect, due to personal reasons. Emma-Jayne Belcher has been temporarily appointed into the acting chairperson role until the end of February 2023. However, Emma has made it known that she has taken the decision to also step down from the committee at the end of February 2023. This period of time is to ensure a smooth transition and handover period to the new officers (chair and vice chair) of the charity as per the committee handbook guidelines.

As you can probably tell this is a big change for LPUK for both the committee and membership. With this in mind, we will be holding an AGM in February at our Birthday event to vote and elect a new committee, including chair and vice chair. Details of the AGM will be released in due course.

Simeon and Emma have both served as active committee members for 7 years. They’ve shared the co-vice chair position in recent years under Sam Davis as chairperson and most recently in the last 18 month have taken up the role of chair and vice chair. They have helped see the charity through the covid pandemic with Simeon hosting the regular weekly lockdown quizzes and cooking sessions and Emma also co-hosting the monthly Glad Rags and travel sessions. They also played a big part in this year’s 10th Annual Convention which was LPUK’s first big event back since the pandemic. Both Simeon and Emma have said the charity will always have a big place in their hearts and they will always be one of its top supporters.

Yours Sincerely

Little People UK Committee
