- Questions from members
The following questions were submitted prior to the AGM and answered at the AGM –
- Disappointed with the m/ship letter. Would much prefer an email. You mentioned low funds seems crazy send out especially with the cost of postage these days.
Thank you for your response. In the past members have notified that information via emails is not always received, the committee made the decision to send a paper version of the membership letter (along with AGM notices) to try and help combat this. There was also consideration for those who may be less technologically able, where a letter would be more suitable. We will look into an ‘opt out’ system for those who prefer emails. In the meantime, if you would like to use a paperless system please notify us by emailing admin@littlepeopleuk.org.
- Is there a plan to set up regional events/meet ups? Not much happens up here in the north!
Thank you for your question. We are in the process of planning more regional events for 2024. We did have a regional planned for Yorkshire, however this had to be cancelled due to hazardous weather conditions and illness – there is intention to replan this once the weather is more suitable. There is also a ‘save the date’ out for an event taking place in April, in the South West region and we plan to build on these around the UK. If you have an idea for a regional, a committee member would be more than happy to support in planning, please get in touch via admin@littlepeopleuk.org.
- Could we have an update on 2024 convention? Will there be one? Where will it be? Big families need to plan and save and book time off work etc
Thank you for your question. The convention details will be shared soon after the Celebration Event. The committee are working hard to get events planned much further in advance to ensure our membership has the opportunity to book and plan in advance. We also have the payment plan available for the Convention should anyone need it, please email admin@littlepeopleuk.org for information.
Additional question asked on the day were –
- Can we have karaoke at the event?
This is being looked into by the committee for the next event.
- Is there predicted to be a financial loss this year, do we know how much?
We can’t give definitive answer at present as we don’t have those figures to hand, we can start to publish a mid year report, there has been an enormous amount of fundraising this year which has helped, we have to remember we are a charity not a business so spending money is necessary to ensure we meet our aims and objectives, the committee are dedicated time this year to find long-term funding, we will advertise where funds are to be spent.
AGM FINISHED at 6:25pm
