Over the last few years, we have been celebrating Dwarfism Awareness Month in a variety of different ways, in October 2023 Little People UK representatives Danielle Webb, Andrew Smith, Andy Moyes and Rebecca Nuttall had the extraordinary honour of visiting the Senedd in Wales to host the very first Dwarfism Awareness Day Seminar. The landmark event brought together over 120 representatives from organisations across Wales, all eager to learn more about dwarfism and explore ways to promote inclusion and accessibility. Sponsored generously by Jane Bryant MS, the seminar featured an informative presentation, an engaging Q&A session, and opportunity for networking and idea sharing.
Building on this momentum, October 2024 saw another informative seminar at the University of South Wales. Danielle Webb, Gaby Boyle, and Rebecca Nuttall welcomed attendees from a wide range of professions to discuss dwarfism, share personal experiences, and highlight strategies for supporting the dwarfism community. Special thanks go to Urban Circle Newport and Loren Henry for sponsoring the event and helping increase our awareness efforts.
The celebrations continued throughout October 25th 2025, when the Civic Centre in Newport, County Hall building in Somerset, Mersey Gateway, Portishead Youth Centre and Haregate Community Centre all lit up green in support of Dwarfism Awareness Day. This visual demonstration highlighted the growing recognition and celebration of the dwarfism community.
Little People UK is proud to continue raising awareness, fostering understanding, and creating opportunities for connection and inclusion for people with dwarfism throughout Wales.
